Born on 25 January in Manila, he hails from the proud clan of Caraig of Spain and Serrano of the Bicol region.

He has been a consistent honor student (having represented the National Capital Region in a Country-Wide Scientific Investigation Conference, 2000, graduated Honorable Mention in Lourdes School of Mandaluyong (Elementary) in 2001 and (High School) in 2005; constant Dean’s Lister, University Scholar, Honorable mention, and Most Outstanding Thesis Recipient, UP College of Economics and Management, 2005; and included in the Top 50% of his graduating batch, San Beda College of Law – Manila, 2015), while dexterously managing his priorities and obligations as a working student and leader (Member, UP Economics Society; Member, Junior Philippines Economic Society; Member, UP Open Society; Member, San Beda Law Athletics Organization; Member, San Beda Society for Human Awareness Reaching Towards Effective Development; Vice-President, Pi Omicron Fraternity, 2008-2009; Vice President, 2012-2013 and President, San Beda Vox Legis, 2013-2015, Adhoc Officer for Marketing, San Beda Bar Operations, 2014-2015).
